Linn's team had a clear goal in mind for the design of Akubarik: to take the elegance, precision and performance of their flagship range, and package it into a more compact enclosure, suitable for any size of room.
The simplicity of the design brief is reflected in the refinement of the curved cabinet, but look beneath the surface and you'll discover just how much proprietary Linn technology has been packed into this unique speaker to produce its outstanding performance characteristics.
Fed by a single network cable from any Exakt-compatible Linn DSM player, the on-board Exakt digital crossover in each speaker delivers five independently controlled channels, each with its own dedicated volume control, Katalyst DAC and power amplifier.
The Linn 3K driver array then delivers fantastically clear mid- and high-frequencies throughout your room, while an integrated Isobarik bass system delivers power and musicality in the lowest frequencies negating the need for an overall larger speaker or separate subwoofers.

PRECISELY CRAFTED CABINETS
The complex laminated cabinet construction is pressure-formed to produce the distinctive curved design while providing an exceptionally rigid shell for the drive units to operate with minimised resonance. Carefully placed internal bracing provides added rigidity and an acoustically inert enclosure for stable mounting of the drive units. 3K DRIVER ARRAY By minimising the distance between drive units, a single-point sound source is created, which together with the acoustic ‘skoop’, produces exceptionally wide dispersion for precise and consistent high frequency performance throughout the room. |
INTEGRATED EXAKT MODULES
Built-in to the rear of the speaker is an intelligent, networked module that's suspension-mounted to acoustically isolate it from the cabinet. Connected to a Linn network music player using Exakt Link, the module is fed a digital signal, which is split by the Exakt digital crossover into the precise frequencies required for each drive unit. Exakt’s powerful processing ensures the perfect time alignment of every frequency played by each drive unit, preserving the precise sound of every instrument. ISOBARIK BASS By using two bass drive units working in tandem, positioned face-to-face at the foot of the speaker, bass is directed downwards and radiates out from the speaker through a precisely engineered air gap above the solid machined base. |
