Taken in as part of a trade in from a valued customer the speakers have been well cared for and are in overall excellent condition with a few minor marks (as shown in images). Hot on the heels of our X2 ‘baby’ floorstander, the X3 goes above and beyond with its larger size, extended bass and exciting dynamic range. The X3 uses its extra size to add enhanced bass extension and greater presentation scale over the X2, while retaining the open and accurate midrange and a subtly detailed treble. EXCEPTIONAL, CUSTOM-MADE CROSSOVERS
Kudos’ unique drivers are custom designed in collaboration with leading Norwegian experts, SEAS. The X3 features the same tweeter as its ‘baby brother’ the X2, but marries it with a new 18cm mid/bass driver for extended bass, housed in a cast chassis for excellent stability. The drivers are carefully matched and precisely aligned to work seamlessly as one. LOW-ORDER CROSSOVER AND MINIMAL DESIGN FOR A PURER SOUND
The purer the signal, the truer the sound. A Kudos loudspeaker preserves a clean and clear audio signal by favouring a minimal design with our trademark, low-order crossover. The X series’ superb quality components, including Mundorf inductors and resistors, and ClarityCap capacitors, are tailored specifically for Kudos to stringent tolerances. |
INTERIOR DESIGN
The X3’s cabinet is constructed from 18mm high density MDF specifically chosen for its acoustic properties, and is carefully tuned to minimise cabinet colouration and time smear. The reflex port is situated on the bottom of the cabinet so that the plinth then provides a fixed boundary gap for the port to work optimally, as well as providing additional stability. Since bass plays such a powerful role in how we hear music, our X series pays particular attention to delivering superior sound at the all-important lower end. The X3’s fixed boundary bass reflex loading is key to a more agile, nuanced, textured and detailed bass reproduction. |
